Match 3 Lusk Home
Team

Some Notes to save us time pitchside:
We'll work on these things as the season progresses and when the clocks go forward.
Defending Corners:

4 Zonal Players :Orla, Chloe, Penny and Rebecca
Edge of Box Naomi and Emma ( Naomi a bit higher)
3 Markers and blockers : Abbie, Sarah and Shauna
Post : Aobhinn
One big thing for tonight is to let them have the ball in their half until we are in a good defensive shape. No high energy pressing up top, just delay them as best you can, so no diving in. Same as last week, we've a game again on Wednesday.
NOTES FROM LAST WEEKS GAME
Defending setpieces, we need to be BEHIND the player we're marking.
Centre Halves can't be drifting to the wings or racing in to midfield to make challenges, communicate with your 6 don't let her leave you exposed.
Orla will need to try intercept when runners get in behind, therefore defensive midfielder will need to be very deep when we don't have the ball, therefore not be caught too far forward.
Our corners towards the penalty spot caused them problems, the 6 yard area keeper is getting them.
THEIR KICKOUTS: Never turn your back on the ball, just because the keeper is retrieving the ball, be organising. Forwards, one player is splitting the centre halves, the other is picking up their 6. The forward player forces the play to one side, prevents it going back to the keeper, everyone else shifts over.
Midfileders, get behind your markers.
Regarding long deadball kicks : Rotate these so that one player doesn't risk muscle strains, therefore:
Goal Kicks: Hayley, Orla or Chloe
Free kicks inside own half and just inside their half : Orla or Chloe.
Attacking Free Kicks : Naomi with back up if needed from Shauna and Rebecca. (Chloe from the left side)
Penalties : Naomi, with Chloe and Rebecca as back up if needed.
Taking Corners : Rebecca or Shauna.
Our Throws in our Half: Work them down the line in our half unless there's an obvious NO RISK alternative.
Our throws in their half:Express yourselves but one of our strikers to go as high as possible to stretch the play
and create space as we can't be offside from a throw.
